Designer Jessica Jung walked the red carpet for Lane Crawford’s 1st Anniversary event in Shanghai. She wore black skinny pants and a sleeveless shirt, coupled with silver stilettos and a white clutch. She draped a jacket over one arm and used it as just another accessory for the night. Her outfit was simple, elegant and basically said, “I have nothing to prove because I am effortlessly perfect.” (Insert finger-snapping) This marks the superstar’s first public appearance since being “amicably removed” from Girls’ Generation. I am in no way surprised that she chose this as her first fashion industry event, considering that luxury store Lane Crawford is selling her sunglasses line. To watch Jessica walk the red carpet look below.
In other Blanc & Eclare news, the fashion label has announced their first charity project. According to Blanc Group’s official press release:
Today, international artist and BLANC & ECLARE Head Designer Jessica Jung has announced a new initiative, “BLANC & ECLARE LOVES GIVING”, in partnership with global charity group Help For Children, which aims to prevent and treat child abuse.
The first BLANC & ECLARE charity initiative is a Design Competition that invites the public to design a pair of sunglasses, with the winning design ultimately joining the BLANC & ECLARE collection with 100% of the profits going to the brand’s charity partner.
Budding fashion designers and fans can enter the BLANC & ECLARE Design Competition by submitting sketches via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. On November 20, 2014, the entry period will close and a shortlist that will be featured on a designated website where people can cast their vote. The winning design by majority vote will be announced shortly thereafter with presales and expected delivery by Spring 2015.
Philanthropy and fashion make a wonderful combination. I am totally joining this competition! I have a couple of ideas for sketches. I am not even a fashion major but this seems like a very nice career opportunity for a wonderful cause. So I would say don’t be shy and just send in your ideas! You never know what doors could be opened! I’ve done a little bit of research for you guys just to give you a head start. Below I have some of my favorite sunglasses from the Spring 2015 runways, so you know what’s new for the upcoming season. Also, according to the Limited Edition section of Blanc Group’s site, “To recognize the designer’s contribution to the winning style, his/her name will be engraved on the inside temple of every pair produced and sold.” Yes, please.
